About GAMES for the MIND

The CENTENARY GAMES project

C-GAMES for the MIND focuses on the connection between traditional games, learning, concentration and cognitive skills. Hosted in Sassari, Sardinia, the event presents traditional games from Italy, Bulgaria and Türkiye that challenge participants to think, observe, cooperate and make decisions while staying physically active. The selected games are inspired by those played by parents and grandparents in the past and are brought back to life in a modern, inclusive and family-friendly format.

During the event, participants will try a variety of outdoor MIND challenges, combining strategy, memory, attention, creativity and fair competition. The event encourages children and adults to rediscover the educational value of traditional games and to understand how play can support self-discipline, respect, tolerance and teamwork. Each game becomes an opportunity to learn through movement and to experience cultural heritage in an active and enjoyable way.

The MIND edition also includes side activities dedicated to the use of traditional games for modern educational and social purposes. It promotes the idea that old games can still develop new skills, helping communities to preserve their cultural identity while encouraging healthy lifestyles, resilience and intergenerational exchange. … see more
